Based on Broadcom’s scalable 10/25/50/100/200G Ethernet controller architecture, the NetXtreme®-E Series P210TP 2x10GBASE-T PCIe NIC is designed to build highly-scalable, feature-rich networking solutions in servers for enterprise and cloud-scale networking and storage applications, including high-performance computing, telco, machine learning, storage disaggregation, and data analytics. The P210TP 2x10GBASE-T PCIe NIC builds upon the success of the widely-deployed NetXtreme E-Series architecture by combining a high-bandwidth Ethernet controller with a unique set of highly-optimized hardware acceleration engines to enhance network performance and improve server efficiency. Driven by the growing need for higher server bandwidth and storage capacity to support new and emerging applications, enterprises, telcos and cloud providers are modernizing their data centers by adopting latest networking technologies, such as server virtualization and NVMe-oF™. The resulting expansion in data volumes increases server-to-server traffic and CPU loads for networking tasks. With its market-leading hardware acceleration technologies, the NetXtreme-E Series P210TP 2x10GBASE-T PCIe NIC addresses these performance and service demands of mega-scale data center networks with high throughput and advanced flow processing. Features such as TruFlow™ increase VM density up to 50 percent, freeing more CPU cycles for additional virtual machines. On-chip tunneling protocol processing for Geneve, VXLAN, and NVGRE provides up to a 5X throughput increase while lowering CPU utilization up to 90 percent compared to software-only solutions. The HP H241 Smart Host Bus Adapter comes in a low profile, PCIe3 x8 standup form factor that provides the Gen9 Servers a reliable, high performing SAS connectivity to the data in the direct attached or shared storage solutions. Featuring eight external physical links, it delivers 12 Gb/s SAS performance.

The H241 Smart Host Bus Adapter provides flexibility to run as an HBA mode or simple RAID mode. When operating in simple RAID mode, it provides RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5 with optional HP Secure Encryption capabilities.

Unlike the HP Smart Array Controllers, the H241 does not offer any acceleration or support cache modules. The controller is also ideal for data backup to an external tape drives.

It also supports the latest SAS and SATA SSDs. The HBA 1100 is also optimized for software-defined storage solutions, such as Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct, VMWare vSAN, and OpenStack Swift/Ceph.

Maximum Performance

The HBA 1100 Series provides the highest levels of storage performance and scalability for next-generation data centers. Using the new SmartPQI host OS device drivers that are optimized for low latency solid-state drives, HBA 1100 adapters can aggregate the performance of devices to the limits of the PCIe Gen3 host bus at 6.6 Gbps, and achieve up to 1.7M IOPS and 60 percent higher IOPS performance with SATA devices without additional overhead or latency. The HBA1100-24i, with 24 internal ports, delivers the lowest latency and highest performance when connected to SSDs, with no need for expanders in most rack server applications. Adapters with 8 ports and fewer are capable of 1.5M IOPS.
