Add a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) 2.5Gbps Port to a PCI Express-enabled Computer
This 2.5 GbE network interface card (NIC) features an Intel I225-V chipset with Intel vPro technology, to enhance performance and data integrity. The variable multispeed options (2.5/1Gbps and 100/10Mbps) enable support for both new and legacy network hardware. Utilize existing Cat5e or CAT6 cabling infrastructure while adding NBASE-T (802.3bz) compatibility for seamless integration. Power Over Ethernet The PCIe Ethernet card supports the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at (Type 1 and Type 2) standards for Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and can deliver up to 48V DC and 25.5W of power to compliant Powered Devices (PD). This flexibility eliminates the need for a separate power supply or Power Over Ethernet injector for remote networked devices such as IP cameras, access control devices, remote kiosks, and wireless access points. Increased Network Speed The PCIe network card leverages Intel vPro technology for remote management and troubleshooting capabilities. Improve bandwidth for data-intensive applications, network sharing, FTPs, online or local storage/backup, and the streaming of online content - while reducing network slowdowns. Access up to 2.5GBASE-T speeds using Cat5e (or better) cabling, to maximize existing networks and equipment. Enhance Existing Hardware The network interface card connects via an available x1 PCI Express 2.0 (or higher) expansion slot. The card ships in a standard-profile bracket and includes a low-profile bracket for installation into small form factor systems and servers. This ethernet NIC card is compatible with Windows, Windows Server, and Linux. This card supports the following advanced features: PXE Boot, WoL, VLAN tagging, 9 K jumbo frame, full-duplex, and Intel vPro technology. The StarTech.com Advantage |

iWARP/RDMA
iWARP delivers converged, low-latency fabric services to data centers through Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Ethernet. The key iWARP components that deliver low-latency are Kernel Bypass, Direct Data Placement, and Transport Acceleration. PCI-SIG* SR-IOV Capable Single-Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) involves natively (directly) sharing a single I/O resource between multiple virtual machines. SR-IOV provides a mechanism by which a Single Root Function (for example a single Ethernet Port) can appear to be multiple separate physical devices. Intel® Ethernet Power Management Intel® Ethernet Power Management Technology provides solutions to common power management approaches by reducing idle power, reducing capacity and power as a function of demand, operating at maximum energy efficiency whenever possible, and enabling functionality only when needed. Flexible Port Partitioning Flexible Port Partitioning (FPP) technology utilizes industry standard PCI SIG SR-IOV to efficiently divide your physical Ethernet device into multiple virtual devices, providing Quality of Service by ensuring each process is assigned to a Virtual Function and is provided a fair share of the bandwidth. Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) is a technology designed to offload some of the switching done in the VMM (Virtual Machine Monitor) to networking hardware specifically designed for this function. VMDq drastically reduces overhead associated with I/O switching in the VMM which greatly improves throughput and overall system performance |
The ST1000SPEXD4 PCI Express Dual-Port Gigabit Network Card lets you add two gigabit Ethernet ports to a client, server or workstation through a single PCIe slot. Each port provides 10/100/1000 Mbps capable Ethernet and is fully compatible with IEEE 802.3/u/ab standards.
Suitable for any standard PCI Express-enabled system, the 2-port Ethernet card supports full-duplex flow control for maximum data transfer speeds of up to 2000 Mbps - an ideal 2-port NIC for setting up dual-homed, or multi-homed host configurations providing added security to corporate networks. The dual-port server adapter is compliant with the PCIe 2.0 standard and features support for Jumbo Frames and 802.1q VLAN tagging as well as Wake on LAN (WoL). The adapter includes an optional low-profile / half-height bracket that can be used for installation into a standard or small form-factor computer chassis. The StarTech.com Advantage - Protect critical networked systems with a redundant and independent Gigabit port - Optimize network traffic with support for advanced features such as Jumbo Frames and VLAN tagging - Maximize the networking efficiency of your virtualized server, with dedicated ports |
